Travis Barker has given an update to his social media followers after undergoing ring finger surgery on Friday.
The 47-year-old musical artist has reappeared on Instagram after previously connecting with fans before going under the knife.
The lifelong musician called the procedure a “success” as he thanked fans in a heartfelt caption. He also shared an image of his open finger.
The father-of-three wrote: ‘Thank you for all the love, prayers and understanding this week as I had surgery. So grateful to Dr Shin and that my surgery was a success so I can continue doing what I love and see you on tour soon.
His wife, Kourtney Kardashian, posted one of the same hospital photos as Travis and wrote above it, “Thank god amen.”
Barker also said in the post that choosing to operate on his number “was a tough decision to make but ultimately I couldn’t continue playing drums without it.”
“It was inevitable that my finger would dislocate again without surgically repairing the torn ligament,” he explained.
Ahead of his surgery, he posted and deleted a video clip holding hands and praying with his 17-year-old daughter, Alabama Barker, and wife Kourtney Kardashian, 43.
He had also shared another bloody video of the finger injury, showing his joints being put back in place.
The Blink-182 drummer revealed on Monday that he will go under the knife after injuring his ring finger twice last month.
It happened while he was rehearsing with his band for the upcoming “All The Small Things” reunion tour.
He shared the health update with his 7.9 million followers on Instagram and captioned it: ‘Surgery tomorrow’, complete with a praying hands emoji.
In the post, Travis showed video of him having his finger pulled and pushed in different directions to try and get him back to normal.
It appeared that he had a doctor come to his house who was talking about the pain in his finger.
Another snap showed Travis in an all-black ensemble holding his hand glued to his face, protecting him from further harm.
He also photographed her finger up close, with her tattooed hand reaching out to display the break at the top of her knuckle.
His wife Kourtney responded to the message with a series of prayer hands and heart emojis.
He previously tweeted on Feb. 8, “I was playing drums in rehearsal yesterday and broke my finger so badly I dislocated it and tore ligaments.”
No gigs have been postponed or canceled following the injury, with fans hoping the surgery won’t impact Blink-182’s first tour with Tom DeLonge in the lineup – alongside Travis and their band. teammate Mark Hoppus – since 2014.
Late last year, Tom revealed the band were busy working on “the best album” they’ve made to date.
He teased on Instagram: ‘I’m personally tripping and so proud of what we’ve created TOGETHER. Like a unified force of pleasure, eternal youth and above all close friends.
The band are set for their biggest tour yet, with gigs in the UK, Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand and their first ever shows in Latin America.
The gigantic tour will begin in March and end in February 2024.
The three original members of Blink-182 met before Mark underwent cancer treatment in 2021 and he revealed that the three were in a good place.
He previously said of the band’s relationship, “It’s actually better than before.
“There was no agenda (when they met). There was no lingering hard feelings. It came down to what it should be: three friends sitting in a room.
