The New Comedy Series Reunited The right place creator Mike Schur and star Ted Danson have landed on Netflix with an eight-episode straight-to-series order. In it, Charles (Danson), a retiree, finds new life when he responds to an ad from a private detective and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.
Schur and Morgan Sackett are producing through Schur’s Fremulon and David Miner through 3 Arts Entertainment. Maite Alberdi and Marcela Santibañez are executive producers for Micromundo Producciones with Julie Goldman and Christopher Clements for Motto Pictures.
The Mole Agent documentary, directed by Maite Alberdi, received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature in 2021. It was also selected as the Chilean entry for Best International Feature, making it to the category’s shortlist.
In the docu, a private detective, Rómulo, hires an elderly man, Sergio, to go undercover to a retirement home in El Monte, Chile, to investigate a claim by the private detective’s client that his mother allegedly was mistreated by the staff. While at the house, the man builds relationships with its residents and learns their secrets.
The right place, which ran for four seasons on NBC and found a large following on Netflix, earned three Emmy nominations for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Danson and two nominations for a Comedy Series. Danson has since headlined the NBC comedy series The mayor, which aired for two seasons and continues to recur on HBO Calm your enthusiasm.
