Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have received an invitation to attend the coronation of King Charles III – despite their strained relationship with the Royal Family.
“I can confirm that the Duke has recently received email correspondence from Her Majesty’s office regarding the Coronation,” a spokesperson for the couple told The Sunday Times on Sunday.
“An immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be released by us at this time.”
Page Six has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.
Charles ascended the throne in September 2022 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
He is set to be officially crowned on May 6, a date that fans say was chosen specifically to cause conflict between Harry and Markle, as it marks their son Archie’s 4th birthday.
Royal sources told Page Six last month that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would certainly be invited to the ceremony despite ongoing tensions with Harry’s family.
Their relationship has been strained since the couple stepped down from senior royal duties in January 2020.
Tensions boiled over when Harry, 38, released a tell-all memoir which revealed all manner of family secrets, including an alleged physical altercation with his brother Prince William and a claim that Charles, 74, loved making hurtful comments about Harry’s redhead “real father.”
In an excerpt from the memoir, the late Princess Diana’s youngest son wrote: “Dad loved to tell stories, and this was one of the best in his repertoire. He always ended with a whiff of philosophy… Who knows if I’m really the Prince of Wales? Who knows if I’m even your real father?

“He was laughing and laughing, although it was a remarkably unfunny joke, given the rumor circulating at the time that my real father was one of mum’s former lovers: Major James Hewitt,” said he continued. “One cause of this rumor was Major Hewitt’s fiery red hair, but another cause was sadism.”
The royal family has yet to address the content of the book, titled “Spare”. Instead, they maintained the status quo.
