“It was like a challenge. In Milan, I am at home. Presenting in Los Angeles was stepping out of my comfort zone. When I create a collection, I want to feel insecure… Maybe I’m crazy, but it’s the questioning that helps me grow and improve,” she told L ‘Official.
The designer continued, “I wanted luxury after all the street style of the past few years. I worked to enhance the foundations of the Maison Versace, of the work of Gianni. I started with a collection from 1995, and I found a renewed desire for tailoring, architecture, shapes and cuts.
Of her choice to show the collection in Los Angeles, she said she wanted a “change” this season.
“Although I love Milan, which has made great strides as a metropolis and fashion city with global resonance, I wanted to experience a different environment,” Donatella told the outlet. “Furthermore, I aspired to do something outdoors with a more direct and stronger contact with nature. I felt the need to create a unique and special experience. That’s why I thought of Los Angeles, a city that I love and to which I am deeply attached.
When asked what the city means to her, she replied, “I go to LA a lot.” I like the two stories he tells. The most glamorous: that of cinema and celebrities. But also nature, boys playing sports on the beach. Healthy, beautiful, athletic.

Speaking about the idea, Donatella said “it’s an initiative” she believes in “wholeheartedly”.
“It was a real honor to visit the LGBT Center of Los Angeles, to officially launch this mentorship program set up with the CFDA, to support young students from the LGBTQ+ community, while interacting directly with them,” he said. she declared.
