Cardi B has revealed she has no regrets about her first face tattoo.
Rapper Bodak Yellow, 30, took to Twitter on Thursday to share the first close-up image of the artwork, which spells out the name of her one-year-old son, Wave, in red ink on his jawline .
“Love my face,” the hitmaker – who got a tattoo last year – wrote in the caption, adding a red heart emoji.
The image was taken from the recent McDonald’s campaign of her and husband Offset, 31.
Cardi looked amazing in a halter-neck white dress with crystal detailing, and had her black tresses pulled back into a chic bun, revealing cursive body art.
Last year, the star decided to add some new artwork to her extensive collection of tattoos.
The musician was seen in a video posted to Instagram by tattoo artist Robinson De Los Santos as she got a tattoo on the side of her jawline.
In the short thirteen-second clip, Cardi can be seen covering her face as Santos works on the design, which appears to be red ink letters.
“Cardi B today’s job,” he captioned the music video in Spanish.
Santos also shared a selfie of himself and Cardi that partially showed off the singer’s new design.
Fans in the comments had a mixed reaction to the new body art, with some warnings that a face tattoo is never a good idea.
“OMG not a good shot…I love cardi.B, trust…NEVA the face takes your beauty away…” one follower wrote.
Another added: “Why don’t you ruin your face with tattoos, your body ok but not the face.”
However, others defended her choice, with one fan writing, “Her body, her choice, you all bug and what she does doesn’t even affect your daily life.”
In January, Cardi – born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar – told fans she was considering getting a tattoo of her son Wave’s name.
‘Random but….I’m about 1% also tattooing my son’s name on my face….I really really want to!’ she wrote in a Tweet at the time and shared that she wanted the new tattoo on her jawline.
She shares Wave and daughter Kulture, four, with rapper husband Migos Offset.
The idea may have come from her husband, who has their daughter’s name tattooed on his jaw.
Cardi B and Offset already have tattoos honoring each other. The singer has her name on the back of her leg, while rapper Stir Fry has his name tattooed on his neck.
The couple – who have been married since 2017 – also have matching hand tattoos of their wedding date.
Cardi already has a huge collection of ink on her body, with a very colorful peacock and butterfly pattern running from her thigh to her ribcage.
The Bronx native also has a massive floral tattoo on his back that features bright flowers, butterflies, and a hummingbird, in an array of colors including various tones of purple, orange, blue, red, yellow, and green, among others.
